You know how sometimes patience is rewarded? Like, oh my god you guys, like, obviously not always, but you know like when it happens it is like totally the best thing EVER and stuff?
Holy. Fucking. Shit. Jim we love you. We have found our target. Bombs away!!!!!!!!
If this can't fire up my fags, hags and wannabe homos, I am just not doing my job.

Roger that, SIR!
HFA Foreigns Legions On the way!
see ya there HF!
Is anyone else having trouble posting comments? Have we overloaded it? Surely not....
It's fine now, seemingly.
It's too bad that Jim didn't write about this yesterday when the press release was originally issued. I'm just sayin...
Seventy posts and counting. OUTFUCKINGSTANDING.
We're way over 100. Yay!
And on that day the skies were darkened by HFA squadrons...
Are "Wannabe Homos" straight guys who sing along to the Spice Girls?
I've got to be away from the computer for a bit - man, I hate to leave that thread, it's cooking!
Keep up the good fight, soldiers!
Never mind posting comments, I can't even get the page to load. But I've had that problem (during the day, anyway) ever since they switched servers back in the fall. :(
ducking into a meeting myself...al frente con el Frente!
It feels good...
do it
Oh oh oh, and there's a Digg opportunity associated! Let's get Jim some traffic, y'all!
Digg this post
Are we having fun yet?
Oooh, request permission to attack Paultards. Sir! Spotted one. Ooooh old instincts kicking in!
Let me just say that I am fucking IMPRESSED with the quality and quantity of the comments on Jim's post.
I need to re-group here behind the lines, stock up on whiskey and smokes, maybe shack up with a local for a spell.
can we look at his other posts, too? looks like jim is the only one posting today at all...
Homofascist, Jim just commented:

You guys are being unusually nice, and it's confusing me. You mean well and I appreciate that. But if you really want to make my day, you should just make a decision: all else aside, is the current wonkette.com something you want to keep reading, or not? Nothing's changing here (that I know of!), so it's probably best you make a decision. 'Twould be fantastic to have you back, but if you don't want it, that's fine too. I get it either way.
????? is he pissed off?
@berightback: Depends on the age; Judy Garland works for the senior circuit.
@manchucandidate: Don't shoot until you see the "evol" in their "revolution".
@nabisco: Whatever it takes to keep morale, and certain organs, up.
@miss expatria: Perhaps Layne is doing his Edgar Bergen impression.
Or the Trilateral Commission. Whatev.
I have done my patriotic duty by commenting with Beck lyrics. Litotes, I know that's your job but then again, I can't get that damn "Timebomb" song out of my head.

@miss expatria: Mommy & Daddy are divorcing, and Jim's caught in the middle. Which is more glib than needed, but he has to make the best of his situation. As do we all.
@miss expatria: I've infiltrated other posts by Jim and left comments.
I figure the guy's gotta eat.
@rptrcub:
No problem. Music is everyone's job.
@rptrcub: I can't get it out of my head now either!
@litotes: I too couldn't avoid a lyrical quote. I went with the Ramones, sorry I didn't clear it with musical propaganda first.
al frente!
p.s. Homofascist, I'm curious whether Serolf Divad ever contacted you in re his recruitment to the HFA. He remains a prolific, and funny commenter (yes, I peeked).
@nabisco: Serolf/Flores actually contributed this incomparable graphic, but he may also have made his peace with the site's new direction.
@nabisco I don't really want to comment on any specific members or non-members of the HFA. I did ask David for the graphic which he expertly provided. But if he is still commenting, I say god bless (I don't really believe in god, but you get the sentiment). Like I have said before, people are adults and are free to do whatever they want to do. I think he is hilarious and Jim et al. are lucky to have him.
@miss expatria: I figured Jim's response was either A) Layne posting as Jim or B) Layne ordering Jim to post it.
I actually don't think Layne gives a flying fuck what we do one way or another. I do think that Jim is caught in the middle and probably wants us back, just for his own creativity and sanity. And I can't blame him - I wouldn't like this situation were I in his shoes. Now that you are on today, seriously check out some of the posts from yesterday. Go ahead. Read the comments. Ouch!
I think he must be Catholic, because he lays down a hell of a guilt trip :)
I forgot about David's graph, it was awesome.
I agree that Jim is caught in the middle, and that he's a better editor when his audience is prolific. Most of the comments on the posts are total rubbish. Of course, I'm an idiot too, but just sayin.
Aw boo, Kucinich is a quitter.
@homofascist: I'm not going to pretend to be up in the guy's brain after a mere couple hours of hanging out, but I did hang out with Jim last week and he seemed to be sort of resigned to losing Megan, but otherwise content to stay on board at Wonkette.
I think Jim, like a lot of people (admittedly, myself included), underestimated the boycott, thought it would be just talk and then things would be back to normal come Monday. When that didn't happen... well, maybe he is feeling a bit miffed. I probably would too if I were in his shoes.
For what it's worth, he's a really good dude who seems like an all-or-nothing realist and probably not one for wishy-washy praise, which may be his interpretation of the HFA threadbomb.
Then again, I could be completely wrong and talking out of my ass.
Jim, if you're lurking and I'm wrong, feel free to excoriate me via email.
@ianj: I wonder what his delegate will do?
In other news, Kucinich was apparently running for president. Sorry, I've been over on Fark too much during the boycott.
I think we've got our arithmeticular evidence that the HFA ARE Wonkette's commenters. Like, 5,000 pageviews and 300+ comments? I don't think there's that many random Heath Ledger fans or WBC haterz out there.
I think Ken fucked up, but based on Megan's comments, he did it with the best interests of the site in mind. I mean, he's WRONG, but guys in charge often are. Doesn't seem to be some kinda anti-mo vendetta, as has been conjectured.
God, the non-HFA commenters suck, a few non-boycotting oldtimers excepted. Didja see that Paultard gang bang? Eesh.

Heh
@ECD: Dude, his delegate is, like, flying so hiiiiigh right now. Kucinich what-now?
@spangledangel
Jim took a lot of criticism in the original "wtf?!? ken fired me!' thread.
Seeing all of the "Megan is great, fire the other dorks" comments that followed had to hurt.
Probably exactly what christ felt like when everybody yelled, "Fuck that Jesus prick, release Barabus!!"
I'm thinking this is how religions must've always started, and I gotta say, this one could go either way.......
@spangledangel: Once folks start tossing flowers at the palace gates, things can get out of hand...
The Eurotrash Front Lines is signing off. I'll be back to read Jim's posts going forward, me thinks.
And I'll blithely plug my own blog, as well. Nothing to do with politics, everything to do with travel. It's linked in my user name, and I'm on Wordpress as well. G'night! See youse on Jim's posts!
Again, sorry for the plug - but I figure my actions today have probably not left me in the running for a job at the shiteous Gridskipper.
Well, today's "slight return" seemed strained, to say the least.

Hey, this is Ron Paul Forums, right? Haha I joke. But this thread does freak me out a bit.
I'm not "pissed", but I did come to the resolution last night that I have to stop caring about this because (a) it's not my problem and (b) I'm getting much too involved in the very annoying aspects of internet mind games. I would like for you guys to come back -- you're some of our best commenters obvs -- but it's unhealthy for a young man to spend his early-mid twenties worrying about commenters on a website. All I said was, I do hope some of you guys come back; if you don't like the way the web site reads, I take the commenter suggestions very seriously. But those only result in minor adjustments, so if it doesn't work for you, then it's been fun while it lasted. I will adore the ones of you that come back and fondly remember the ones that don't. But I like my job still, so I'm done worrying about anything else.
Hey Jim,
Thanks for posting. You know there are no hard feelings and we would bring you with us if we good.
I, for one, appreciate your dilemma. A man's gotta do etc.
Keep your head up!
@newell: I've served my time in media over the years (print and radio), and I know the value of an engaged audience, as well as what it takes to engage one. (Paying attention, pretty much, and speaking to the invididual instead of the crowd.) It's sad that your boss is happy to write us off, and we won't know for some time whether his decision was in the best interests of the business.
But he did what he did, and we all have to do what we'll do. Go in peace.
